The development of XML DTD specification

The different stages involved in the development of the XML DTD specification and other specifications can be found in the w3.org website at dev.w3.org.

A collection of the style sheets and the documents are available in the spec-prod directory of that website. The working drafts and the documents at the various stages of the recommendation are found in the w3.org website.

You can see them anytime. The latest version of the DTD document is found in

http://www.w3.org/xml/1998/06/xmlspec.dtd

The development of the XML DTD specification was a collaborative work and the development and maintenance of that was taken over my Eve Maler of Sun during the year 2000.

The schedule of the development was dependent on the technical editors. There are various development branches available for the xmlspec alone and at present work is going on to merge all of these into a single official baseline.

For more information the development on the XML DTD specification and its history you can check out the w3.org website.
